  • For this Juneau shore excursion, you're whisked off to the boat harbor for a 2 hour on the water guaranteed whale spotting. On-board our custom-made whale watching tour boat, you'll enjoy our wide viewing windows in a heated cabin and yes, there is a 'head' for your convenience.
  • Once our informative and delightful captain spots the whales, the boat slows and out you go on our spacious decks to watch these beasts in their natural summer habitat. Your Naturalists' commentary is full of information about our Humpback whales and other possible wildlife such as Stellar Sea Lions, Dall's Porpoises, Bald Eagles -and just maybe you'll see a transient Orca whale.
  • Our humpback whales come to feed in our cool, rich waters near Auke Bay for the summer.  Although we guarantee a whale sighting, we can't guarantee what the humpbacks can do - But, you will be delighted if they tail-slap, head lunge, breach, or gather for bubble-net feeding.
  • We then drop you off right in front of Tracy's crab shack! Bon appetit!

This is an enthralling opportunity to witness TWO experiences in Juneau - the graceful elegance of humpback whales and well known delicious Alaskan King Crab!

You'll meet our largest local residents - humpback whales! Once aboard your coach, your driver guide narrates as you're transferred to the harbor to board our custom-made whale watching boat. Experience two hours of whale spotting and other possible wildlife.

Once you're back in town, enjoy Juneau's Original Tracy's King Crab. The combo meal includes a meaty King Crab leg, yummy crab cakes, and their oh-so-delicious bisque! Beer and wine are available for purchase.

  • Meet us at the convenient, central pick-up location in front of the Goldbelt Tramway.
  • Check in with one of our Dock Representatives holding a "Juneau Tours or Juneau Whale Watch" sign, sporting a smile and wearing a bright blue hat. They are UNDER THE CABLES OF THE TRAM.
  • On your way to the boat harbor, listen to informative commentary from your driver about the capital city of Juneau.
  • Aboard our whale-watching boats, enjoy a comfortable heated cabin with wide-viewing windows and spacious decks for wildlife spotting. When our captain spots the whales, the boat slows allowing passengers to step out on the deck for that perfect whale shot. The on-board naturalist is full of information about Alaska’s wildlife
  • You'll be nice and hungry when we drop you in front of Tracy's Crab Shack!

The meeting place is located on the street side in front of the Goldbelt Tramway ticket office. Dock representatives are waiting under the aerial tramway cables, holding Juneau Tours and Juneau Whale Watch signs, and wearing bright blue hats. All docks, with the exception of the AJ dock, are within walking distance (under 10 minutes.) Check in is required prior to boarding the shuttle.

Directions

  • From the “AJ" Dock (AJ) look to the left as you exit the ship. The cruise line provides a "Downtown" shuttle, which will drop you right in front of the Goldbelt Tramway. A small fee may apply. If you’re up for a walk, it's about 20 minutes. Ask the shore excursion representative from your cruise line for directions.
  • Franklin Dock (FKL). Exit and turn left. Walk along the Sea Walk for approximately 8 minutes. You'll see the Goldbelt Tramway building in front of you. Right of the building, on the street side, in between two parking lots, is the meeting area under the cables.
  • Cruise Terminal Dock (CT), which are located next to the Goldbelt Tramway office, exit the ship and go straight ahead. Depending on your ship, walk right or left around the building to the street side and meet a representative under the cables. 1 - 2-minute walk.
